Sorsonet Dununba and Kotejura Full Rhythm
Posted August 14th, 2009 by csmaccathFor my friends in the Orion Community Drummers: Here are the audio files from Wednesday night's practice. My little recorder choked a little on the bass tones, but as before, you can pick out the rhythms if you were at practice. I gotta get me a better recorder...
Gebowyn
Posted August 5th, 2009 by csmaccathMy new bodhrán arrived the day before I left for the Celtic gathering, so I had ample opportunity to play it throughout the weekend. It has a lovely mid-range tone, somewhere between my Walton goatskin drum and my handmade, reservation deerskin drum. I am especially impressed with the range provided by the synthetic Remo Renaissance head, most of which is surely because of the Cooperman frame's excellent tuning mechanisms. When I first played it, I knew immediately that I had to keep all three drums, since the goatskin has the deepest tone, and the deerskin is high and bright.
