Imminent Bodhrán Joy Descendeth
Posted June 22nd, 2009 by csmaccathOn the heels of last night's good news, I called Cooperman Fife and Drum this morning to discuss the purchase of a custom bodhrán. I've been planning this purchase for some time, especially since I learned I'd be teaching a bodhrán workshop in early August. The drum is an 18", tunable instrument with a Remo Renaissance head, everything a vegan, Celtic player needs to bust a groove.

A Gorgeous Practice
Posted June 16th, 2009 by csmaccathMy best experiences of community recently have been through my drums. Last Sunday evening, our OCD practice was tremendous. We set the drums up at the edge of Meeks Park, outside the Orion Art Center, and played while people rode by on bicycles and downy ducklings waddled by to investigate on their way down to the water. There was a thunderstorm brewing overhead, but we stretched the practice out as long as we could before rushing the drums up to the porch when spatters of rain began to fall.
