2008 Publishing Round-up
Posted December 24th, 2008 by csmaccath2008 was a good year for publication, if a slow year for production. I'm still working on Twilight of the World Sea People, so I've written no short fiction and almost no poetry. However, TWSP is scheduled to be completed early next year, and I've got a few other irons in the fire, so I'm hoping for a good 2009.
Here then, is the 2008 round-up:
Short Fiction:
Casting Sin in Murky Depths, May 2008
Akhila, Divided in Clockwork Phoenix: Tales of Beauty and Strangeness, July 2008
Gardner Dozois Reviews Clockwork Phoenix in Locus
Posted December 3rd, 2008 by csmaccathMike Allen has just learned that Gardner Dozois reviewed Clockwork Phoenix in the December issue of Locus, giving it the same treatment he gave it a few months ago in The Best New Stories Of 2008.
Chapter 7. Done. ::headdesk::
Posted November 18th, 2008 by csmaccathUgh. I thought I'd never get through it. The big reveal at the end of Chapter 6 expands into new territory in Chapter 7, which means new characters, new complications, and a whole pile of information that all the characters need to tell one another without it looking like I'm putting words into their mouths or backing up the info-dump-truck into the text of the thing.
Plus, I'm working hard on this new editorial gig, TBA.
Clockwork Phoenix Makes the Locus 'New and Notable' List
Posted November 13th, 2008 by csmaccathClockwork Phoenix: Tales of Beauty and Strangeness, which includes my dark science fantasy story "Akhila, Divided," has made the Locus 'New and Notable' list. I continue to be so proud of this anthology and of the inclusion of "Akhila, Divided" in it.
Good on ye, little story. Good on ye.
